Overview
This is a senior field role for a technician who can work independently on operating PV assets. You will diagnose inverter, DAS, communications, transformer, switchgear, and medium-voltage issues, read one-lines, mentor junior technicians, and own complex troubleshooting from first look through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations at assigned sites
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on operating PV systems
- Diagnose inverter, DAS, communications, transformer, switchgear, and medium-voltage issues
- Support and mentor junior technicians
- Coordinate repairs
- Complete detailed reporting
- Interface with customers and operations
Experience
- 5+ years of solar, electrical, industrial maintenance, or equivalent experience
- Able to independently diagnose inverter, DAS, communications, transformer, switchgear, and medium-voltage issues
- Able to read one-lines
- Able to mentor technicians and manage complex troubleshooting
Compensation
- $38-$50/hr during the 90-day probationary period
- Converts to salary after successful completion of probation
- Company vehicle and fuel card provided after probation
Work Hours & Travel
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Daily travel is required
- The first two hours of travel each day are not considered part of the workday
- Travel beyond two hours is compensated
- Overnight travel may occasionally be required
Documentation & Reporting
All field work is documented in CompanyCam. That means arrival and departure photos, detailed captions, materials used, testing performed, and findings. Reports are due within 48 hours.
Physical Requirements
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Climb ladders and access rooftops
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Travel frequently
- Perform physically demanding work safely
90-Day Probationary Period
All employees are subject to a 90-day probationary period. Safety, attendance, communication, documentation quality, technical ability, and overall performance are evaluated.
Hiring Requirements
- Pass a background check
- Maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Be eligible to access customer facilities

Tier 3 Field Technician → Tier 2 O&M Technician → Tier 1 Senior O&M Technician
